At our recent family reunion, we were also reunited with family on the other side in Macon, GA. Growing up, it seems like we were Mississippi every year at some point, and during these times there were people that we ALWAYS saw without fail. Cousins Howard and Rosie were one of the families. We’d see them, but their children, not so much. Jr. is about 10 years older that I am, so when he got done with high school, he went on to the military, if not college first. Yvette was the oldest, so it has been a long time since I’d seen her last after she went and got married. Then Tasha was around a little longer than the others since she was the youngest, but it has been at least 10 years since I saw her face-to-face. Well thankfully, we have all reconnected on facebook (that thing you love to hate, but then love because you use it all the time). Still with as connected as we may be there, I had no idea that I would see Jr. in Macon, GA… but I did, and it was such a pleasure to see the responsible, loving father that he has become. This was my first time meeting his children, and they are jewels as well. I am telling you, I have been blessed with some amazing extending family. On both sides of my family, there are some wonderful values that are passed on to the children! Here are some images from our reunion of sorts! By the way, I could not get over how much Jr.’s daughter looked just like her auntie, Yvette!
