Tribute to all the Mothers Out There!

Let me start with a disclaimer. I have probably taken in excess of 200,000 photographs since I have had a digital camera (2006), so despite all of my best intentions, I was unable to go through every photo I’ve taken since then. There are many beautiful mothers that I have photographed that I was unable to include in my collage. Charge it to the late hour and not my heart (please).

Nevertheless, I wanted to say a special Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there who continue to provide for and sacrifice for their families and children! Remember, children are a blessing from the Lord! Happy Mother’s Day!

She made it to 100!!!!

Earlier today, I had the pleasure of attending a women’s brunch themed “Finding Joy in the Journey.” The highlight for me was when they honored one of the mothers in the church that had just celebrated her 100th birthday! Now this woman is not only beautiful and now more than a century old, but God has blessed her with impeccable health. She walks around, talks, eats, and seems to have a great quality of life. So often people think that 70 or 80 is as far as you can go, but I am believing for 100+.

Anyway, while they were trying to play a video interview with this woman, they ran into technical difficulties with the sound. After a while, the choir got up and sang “God Has Smiled on Me.” As they sang the chorus a second time, the sound from the video came through the speakers. This simple act was yet another reminder for me that sometimes we need to stop worrying about the situation and turn to God… He likes to work out the details! Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to capture a semi-formal 60th Birthday Celebration! People had a great time, the food was great, and it was truly a time of celebration!

Earlier today, I had a beautiful engagement portrait session with a couple that will be tying the not in June. We went to Meridian Hill Park in Washington, DC and God truly smiled on us with the weather! (Thank You, Lord!)
