“Not Invisible”

I am in a “Not Invisible” kind of mood. Most of my recent interactions with people have been positive, but today while walking with my son, I spoke to a woman walking with her 2 sons. While I thought our common ground of raising boys would be enough to reciprocate a greeting, it wasn’t. She looked at me, and then looked away. I did not empower her to make me feel invisible, but I thought about my son who loves seeing people… and I thought about how one day, I hope people are just as excited about seeing him and those who look like him.

Rappin’ for the King

My cousin decided to enter a rapping contest, so he asked me to film a video for this contest.  Of course, I was thrilled at the opportunity to try something new.  Now, he did the real edits with bringing the scenes together.  I simply video taped and then applied filters in Lightroom.  It came out pretty nicely though!

Ringing in the New Year in the ATL

I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Atlanta with my friend and see how the city has changed and catch up with old friends.  We went to the revamped Coca Cola center, took a CNN tour, and visited the High Museum of Art.  We also went to my old stomping grounds – Oglethorpe University – and saw the new and improved student center.  Here are select images from this trip.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Reppin’ JC!

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to photograph a few Christian rappers at Spingarn High School in Washington, DC.  This was a nice change from my normal family and engagement portraits, but we still had a great time.  See select images below, and look out for their first LP!
